  • Star Count!

Tue 23 Feb 2021 Lisa Knight
Between the 6th and 14th of February, families were encouraged to take part in a National Star Count launched by the countryside charity CPRE. Excitingly this is the charity Ms Parks was a director of before becoming a teacher. Their website explained where to find Orion's constellation and how to count the stars that fall within it. Luckily there were a few clear evenings, perfect for a bit of star gazing! (Thank you to Rebecca and Olivia, Ella-Rose, George and Alice for sending in their photos)
  • The Big Garden Birdwatch!

Wed 03 Feb 2021 Lisa Knight

We all came together as a school community to support the RSPB Big Garden bird watch. Children both in school and at home took part in the BBC Winterwatch live lesson and carried out the garden survey. In addition many drew pictures of birds they saw in their gardens. Congratulations to Birch house for having the most children involved!

We kicked off our anti-bullying week with Odd Socks Day today, to remind us that we are all different!  Our school is united against bullying!
  • Remembrance Day

Wed 11 Nov 2020 Rachel Hornsey
First thing this morning, a small group of Falcons children visited the war memorial outside All Saints’ Church to place the school wreath. At 11am, the whole school paused to watch the film of these children placing the wreath, followed by a two minute silence (apart from Barn Owls Nursery who has a quiet story).  It was impressive to see the respect the children showed and their discipline while observing the silence.
  • Traditional games are best

Fri 06 Nov 2020 Lianne Vickers
Today Wrens class made the most of the afternoon sunshine learning some new active games. Mrs Vickers brought in lots of elastic and they researched the different challenges they could make. Then they came outside and burned off some energy!

Wed 04 Nov 2020 Rachel Hornsey
we are thrilled to announce that Mrs Greenough has achieved top marks in our food hygiene inspection today. As always this was a surprise visit so the grade reflects our daily practice. Well done!
  • Falcons visit the River Room

Fri 18 Sep 2020 Zoe Parks
Falcons Class took advantage of the beautiful weather this week and walked through the village to the River Room at All Saints’ Church. Mrs Hornsey has visited last week and a careful risk assessment had been drawn up with Reverend Helen. The children were able to see the magnificent new stained glass window which has been commissioned specially to complement the colours of the glass in the main church. Thank you Helen for making us so welcome!
  • A great start in the kitchens

Thu 10 Sep 2020 Stacey Carbon SBM
Congratulations to our kitchen staff, Mrs Greenough and Terri. Of all the schools in the local area, we have had the highest ratio for take up of school meals so far this term. Thank you to all parents who have encouraged their children to take up this healthy, balanced meal option each day. Remember, if your financial circumstances have changed recently, speak to Mrs. Appleyard as you may be able to claim free school meals.
