Class updates

Reading books

Today your children will come home with reading folders. I have placed some information inside about what the folders will contain and how to fill in the reading records. I have included a sentence book which gradually becomes more difficult. Please work through this at a pace that suits your child. Practise reading each sentence and colouring in the matching picture afterwards.  I will change reading books every Tuesday and Friday so please ensure your child has their reading folder in school on these days.

Forest school

On a Thursday your child will come home with a yellow waterproof overall. Children need to arrive at school wearing their forest school clothes. Underneath their overalls your child will need to wear appropriate weather suitable clothing. They will be at forest school all morning so please make sure they are wearing enough layers to keep them warm and comfortable. Your child will need a water bottle and please ensure that they have been to the toilet!  They will need their uniform in their bag with their school shoes ready to change into once we come back from Forest School. Please ensure that everything is labelled!

On a Friday morning you will need to send your children with their water bottles straight to forest school where Mrs. Potter will greet them in her hi vis overalls. Mrs. Potter will do a school register at forest school.

Please remember to pack some spare socks in your child's bag with their uniform.

Phonics

The children will come home with sound cards in their bag to practise at home. Please ensure your child has their sound card folder in school every Thursday as we will update it with new sounds as we learn them in class.
