Class updates

We are running low on biscuits for our afternoon snack. It would be greatly appreciated if some biscuits were donated for the children to have towards the end of the day - a packet of digestive biscuits would be perfect (nothing chocolate please). Thank you!

Forest school

The first forest school session will take place on Friday 25th September. On a Thursday your child will come home with a yellow waterproof overall. Children need to arrive at school wearing their forest school clothes. Underneath their overalls your child will need to wear appropriate weather suitable clothing. They will be at forest school all morning so please make sure they are wearing enough layers to keep them warm and comfortable. Your child will need a water bottle and please ensure that they have been to the toilet!  They will need their uniform in their bag with their school shoes ready to change into once we come back from Forest School. Please ensure that everything is labelled!

On a Friday morning you will need to take your child and their belongings straight to forest school where Mrs. Potter will greet them in her hi vis overalls. Mrs. Potter will do a school register at forest school.

Book bags

For those asking whether the children need a book bag, we are happy for the children to use their own bags to take to and from school. In addition to this, it would be very helpful if all parents were able to provide a set of spare clothes in a plastic bag which can be kept on your child's peg at school. These spare clothes will remain at school and are useful to have just in case your child gets very wet playing in the water, or has a little accident.

The children will come home with sound cards in their bag to practise at home. Please ensure your child has their sound card folder in school every Friday as we will update it with new sounds as we learn them in class.

Our classroom promise:

Kind hands, kind feet, kind words

Our topic this term is: How many colours in a Rainbow?

Throughout this topic we aim to develop the children's curiosity, understanding and knowledge about colours in nature and the man-made world. We will investigate how colours can be mixed together to create new colours. We will also be exploring a range of different media and materials to create our own wonderful works of art.
