Friends of Sutton Courtenay School
Welcome to Friends of Sutton Courtenay School!
FOSCS is a welcoming group of parents, teachers, carers and friends that arrange events throughout the school year to raise money to benefit the children of the school and give them memorable experiences for their school years.
But FOSCS is about much more than just fundraising and events - we provide closer links between home and school, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school. It is fun too - as we are sure you will find out if you join us at one of the varied events throughout the school year.
On behalf of all the children, we would like to thank you for your invaluable support which enriches their learning experiences and makes their time in school so enjoyable.
Most of our communication with parents, about events, donations or meetings, comes via ParentMail and newsletters. Posters are often displayed around the school and on our noticeboard in the main reception.
We also have a Facebook page where you can find information about upcoming events, reminders and our school community - please find us.
There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through FOSCS. Offering to help before events or at other times during the year is so valuable - it doesn't matter if you can't help on a regular basis, or if you can't come into school. There are always little jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare e.g. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc.
We really couldn't achieve what we do without the unseen 'army of help' that exists in school. You can also volunteer to be a Committee Member or come along to the meetings and give us your ideas for events and fundraising. It would be great to know if you have any contacts or skills we could use - all help is appreciated.
Every year we need new parents to join FOSCS, so if you'd like to get involved, in any way or have any queries or suggestions, you can email us via either:
FOSCS meets on a regular basis, usually once per half term. Any parent is welcome at our meetings, and we are particularly keen to meet new parents. Meeting dates are advertised in the school newsletter, via ParentMail and on our Facebook page. If you want to keep in touch but don't have time to attend meetings please let us know, we're happy to keep you up to date!
