TERM 5
On Wednesday, we went to The Natural History Museum in Oxford to complement our learning in Science on 'Evolution and Inheritance'. We had a fascinating session where we looked and handled real artefacts, before looking around the museum at the incredible range of exhibits. We took advantage of the long awaited warm weather and had our lunch in University Parks. The children made the most of the space and enjoyed some class games in the sunshine. Take a look at our photographs.

Pentecost Experience Afternoon
Well done for a calm and purposeful SATs week. You are all 'superstars'!
This week, we have been getting creative and expressive in our art units on ‘Identity’ and 'Shadow Puppets'.
On Monday, in our unit on Identity, we looked at famous portraits and explored the different artistic styles used. We thought about our individual responses and compared them to those of others, finding similarities in our responses and how they presented the identity of the subject.
We looked at portrait artists who used a range of different media and style before creating our own ‘self portraits’ using mixed media, with a focus on showing our unique ‘identity’ in creative ways.
In our unit on 'Shadow Puppets' today the children enjoyed an Art day today looking at different artists who have made shadow puppets or made artwork with paper cut outs. They used this as inspiration to then design and make their own shadow puppets, some of which they used to take part in some impromptu performing!
Take a look at the children's amazing artwork.
Falcons Fabulous Art
This term, Falcons Class will be taking the SATs during the week beginning 8th May. Whilst we are helping them to prepare, we are also continuing with our wider curriculum and visits. Take a look at some of our photographs below.
Falcons visited Oxford Fire Station to take part in the Junior Citizen Programme where they learnt how to stay safe in a variety of different situations both in the home and around rivers, roads and railways.
Junior Citizen
For R.E. this term, Falcons have been learning about the Easter Story. Reverend Helen and Mrs Budd welcomed us to the church and took us through the story, helping us to reflect thoughtfully on the events.
