Welcome to Nightingales class page!
This week we have been learning:
How to write an alternative fairy tale through sentence stacking.
creating lots of similes, complex sentences and exploring onomatopoeia’s!
completed our Viking topic with a news paper report !
have started some great work on multiplication and division !
knowing our times tables are therefore so important, so regularly practicing our 3,4,8 makes multiplication so much easier!
And lastly we had a lovely poetry workshop all around magic spells and making the world a better place!
Check out there photos below !
This term we are reading the twits ( a classic!) and the boy who accidentally got famous.
We are learning all about:
The Vikings
Forces
ports and coasts
English overview!
Reading:
Children should be reading for 10 minutes per night as part of their homework. Books will then be changed once they have read it twice. Please make sure you are recording their reading in their reading diary (noting when they have completed it) so we know when to change the books. Thank you.
Doodle Learning: (10/09/21)
Doodle learning logins have been given to the children (they are in their reading folders).
Doodle maths should be used in short bursts a couple times a week (10 minutes.) It is important that doodle maths is completed independently as otherwise it will be too hard for the children when they access the programme independently in class. Thank you.
If you have any queries please do ask.
