Term 2
Term 2 welcomes our new topic 'Let's Celebrate!' We will start by finding out why we celebrate Bonfire Night on the 5th of November. Then, through RE, we will learn about the Jewish celebration of Hannakah and the Hindu celebration of Divali. Of course, this term we are also leading up to the celebration of Christmas, where we will play an important role in retelling the Christmas Story for everyone!
Our big Design and Technology project will be learning how to create moving pictures using the mechanisms of sliders, levers and wheels. We will be developing the skills and creating our own moving parts Christmas picture!
Look at our Amazing Christmas Cards!
Today we learned some techniques for card making, such as layering and use of backing paper to frame pictures. We then designed our own card, using backing paper and recycled Christmas cards. They are all unique, which is what makes them so special - who wants 25 cards that all look the same?! What talented crafters we have in Kingfishers' Class - we hope you enjoy the card you receive.
