Ridgeway Education Trust

Sutton Courtenay Primary School is an academy managed by Ridgeway Education Trust, which is an exempt charity and a company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales with registered company number 8104201 and its registered address at Didcot Girls' School, Manor Crescent, Didcot, Oxfordshire OX11 7AJ. Our VAT registration number is 138 0055 37.

The Ridgeway Education Trust (RET) is the Multi Academy Trust (MAT) which oversees Didcot Girls’ School, St Birinus School and Sutton Courtenay Primary School.  It was created in 2012 when Didcot Girls' School converted to academy status to help facilitate future collaboration and partnership with other schools. In October 2013, RET was successful in its application to the Department for Education for sponsor academy status.

St Birinus School joined the MAT on 1 September 2015.  The increased collaboration between the two secondary schools helps to deliver a number of benefits including educational excellence, improved value for money and wider opportunities for partnership.

Sutton Courtenay Primary School joined the MAT on 1 April 2019, giving us the potential for further collaboration and the opportunity to build an exceptional coherent education provision from nursery up to, and including, sixth form.

The MAT Board has ultimate responsibility for running each academy within its structure and for setting the vision for schools within the MAT. The MAT has a master funding agreement with a supplemental funding agreement for each academy.

As Executive Headteacher and CEO, Rachael Warwick has oversight of all schools, Didcot Sixth Form and the DGS Teaching School Alliance. She works closely with the Headteachers at allschools, the Director of Didcot Sixth Form and the Director of the DGS Teaching School Alliance to ensure high standards and a culture of continual improvement.

The core values of high quality teaching and learning, respectful relationships and an inclusive community underpin the Trust’s continuing development and support its commitment to excellence.
