Term 1

We had such a fun pirate day! We made rafts for Pirate Peg Leg and tested them linking to what we'd learnt in Science. We sketched, designed and made sea creature sculptures and sang Sea Shanties. What a brilliant way to end our topic. Look at all the fantastic costumes too!

Floating and sinking in Science

What a brilliant week! Kestrels have been settling in so brilliantly, we are so impressed. This week we have been learning the following...

  • Maths- sorting, counting and representing objects to 10
  • Topic- learning about the UK, oceans of the world and making pirate treasure chests!
  • English- labelling
  • Phonics- we have been practising our new Phonics routines
  • PSHE- keeping safe at home and school. Zones of regulation.

We had a fantastic first day in Kestrels today. We were working hard together to learn new routines as a class. I'm sure we are all very tired now! We enjoyed looking through our memory boxes and talking about our summers. Miss Gibbons and Miss McCann loved hearing about what everyone got up to.

Kestrel adults were so impressed with how well they all did. Here's to a brilliant rest of the week!
