Welcome to Red Kites Class

We are a Year 5 class of confident, curious learners and our school dog: Cessy.

Our teachers are Ms. Parks (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning) and Mrs Knight (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, Friday).

We are supported in the classroom by Miss Geerthsen.

Our window to the world.

Red Kites love to read. As well as a wide range of text types in our reading scheme (that we use for independent reading) we also read together every day.

So far we have read the novels The Explorer by Katherine Rundell and Boy Everywhere by A.M. Dassu. We are currently reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio. 

We also have a reading corner in our classroom with extra special books that we can read during independent reading and take home for additional reading. Many of these are linked to our learning but also include those our teachers have fallen in love with.
