Homework:

Spellings

During term 1, spellings will be sent home every Wednesday and will be expected in the following Monday ready for a spelling quiz.

The spellings set will link back to the phonics sounds we have learnt in class that week alongside the year 3/4 national curriculum spellings.

I have included a blank page for if you wish to practice inside the booklet however you may want to practice elsewhere.

You may practice the spellings however you like, however here are some ideas! :)

Children are welcomed to take part in doodle maths and tables at home. This only has to be 10minutes but will allow them to recap previous topics and consolidate current.

Reading:

Reading is a core part of our day to day life at school where we encourage children to discover and explore a range of texts.
Age 7-9 have the biggest impact on a young reader and it is important that reading for pleasure is established during this time period.
Therefore, establishing a reading routine at home where children are reading every night to an adult for 5 minutes is highly encouraged.
Please record your any reading to an adult within their reading dairy. We cannot change books until they have been read twice to an adult. This is due to the impact it has on your child’s fluency and comprehension.
