Falcons class have studied two books this year that have been made into films:   Wonder by R J Palacio and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J K Rowling. As part of this, they have been comparing how directors interpret key scenes from the original text and how closely we feel they stick to the original intention. A group of high attaining writers are working to put their ideas together about whether overall books  are better    than film. This is a very complex idea and on the whole thoughts are leading to the fact that neither is better, as they are such completely different art forms. However, there was widespread agreement that both were great but with a book, you create your own film as you go, but in your own mind, and each person’s is unique.
