Term 1
This term we are embedding our new English curriculum across school and are excited to be exploring the text 'The Iron Man' By Ted Hughes. First we will be looking at the writers' tools he uses to build tension and then writing our own passages of text implementing these. Following this we will be writing instruction texts using the Iron Man for stimulus.
In other areas of the curriculum, we are learning all about the impact of Romans in History. We will start with the development of the Roman empire, first through neighboring countries and then across the seas. There will be a particular focus on the invasion of England, including Julius Caesar's two unsuccessful attempts. Science will focus on sound, how it is made and how the ear works. It promises to be lots of fun as well as in depth learning with Mrs Corris, our science specialist, on Wednesday afternoons.
For details on all of our curriculum areas, please look at the Curriculum overview in the tab on the main Wrens page.

We are Gold Medal winners!
In PSHCE we thought about the achievements we are most proud of from the past year. We shared them in a circle and then made gold medals to record these moments.
