Welcome to Kingfishers Class - Year 2

Welcome to our Year 2 Class! In this dynamic and engaging environment, our pupils embark on a journey to deepen their understanding and expand their horizons. Year 2 is all about building on the foundational skills acquired in earlier years and exploring new, exciting challenges. Our creative and enthusiastic teachers guide pupils through enriching activities in subjects such as math, reading, science, and art, encouraging curiosity and fostering a lifelong love for learning. Social skills continue to flourish as pupils collaborate and connect with each other. We welcome you to explore the energetic and nurturing world of our Year 2 classroom, where every day brings a new adventure in learning!

Our Teaching Team:

Teachers: Mrs Aitio (Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternate Wednesdays)

Mrs Tester (Thursdays, Fridays and alternate Wednesdays)

Teaching Assistants: Mrs Chenery and Mrs Clements

Reading books this term will be changed every Wednesday

Please could you continue to send your child in with their reading book every day so that we can read with them at school during the course of the week. 

We will also be sending home a list of spellings. These are common exception or 'tricky' words. We will learn and review these spellings weekly, although there will be no formal testing each week. If you are able to, please support your child at home by drawing attention to these 'tricky' words in their reading books, or by helping them to have a go at writing some of the words.

• Homework books will go home on Mondays
