Term 4

Week 5 - This week the children were put into groups and were given the task of creating a presentation about a famous London landmark. They started off the week conducting research about their chosen London landmark before preparing what they were going to say and rehearsing it. They finally presented on Friday and every child did an amazing job - they were so confident and spoke clear. Well done Kestrels! We have also been comparing and measuring capacity in Maths this week.

Week 4 - This week we have written alternative endings to 'Katie in London', been measuring and comparing weights in Maths, started to learn about electrical circuits in Science and learnt about 'The Great Fire of London' in our Topic lessons. We have also really enjoyed the lovely sunshine this week and getting outside a bit more!

Week 3 - This week in English we have written letters as if were Katie about our trip to London. In Maths we have been learning about length and height and have been learning how to measure with a ruler! We have also created some lovely watercolour paintings of London this week.

Week 2 - This week in English we acted out 'Katie in London' and then wrote fantastic descriptive character descriptions about Katie. In Maths we have been counting in 2s and 5s and we have also been learning about London in the past and comparing it to the present.

Week 1 - What a busy first week back! We have started our new 'London' topic and have been looking at where London is on the map and the different landmarks in London. We have also started to read 'Katie in London' in English, which we are all really enjoying! We also decorated our classroom door for World Book Day and had super fun on our Polar Explorer Day!
