Term 2

This term our topic has been 'Let There Be Light' which we have all really enjoyed. A massive part of our topic was performing in our Nativity, 'A Miracle In Town' which all the children thoroughly enjoyed. They wowed the adults with their fantastic singing and remembering their lines and when to come on stage. A very well done Kingfishers!

In Maths this term we have been learning how to add and subtract numbers within 100 - including 2 2-digit numbers! We have used base 10 equipment, number lines, drawings and part-whole models to help us.

In English, we have started our first sentence stacking unit based on the story 'The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark'. The children have really enjoyed this story and have been working hard on their sentence writing, remembering full stops, capital letters and gaps.

In Science with Mrs Hutchinson we have learnt about materials and their different uses.

We started our Topic with learning about the Gunpowder Plot and Remembrance Day and creating Firework art using different tools and thinking about the marks they make. We have also learnt about light and dark including nocturnal animals and shadows - we even made our own shadow puppets and did a shadow puppet performance based on 'The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark'!

Well done Kingfishers for a brilliant term 2!

We really enjoyed performing in our Nativity 'A Miracle In Town' this term - it was so much fun and we worked so hard!
