If you would like to add your child's name to the nursery admission list or your child is already three, please contact the school office for advice on space availability and complete the Nursery Admission Form below.
Children are admitted to our nursery the term after they turn three. Terms start in September, January and after the Easter break in April. Once your place has been confirmed there will be settling in visits prior to your child starting with us. The nursery operates from 8:40am until 11:40am each morning and forms the 15 hours of funding that your child will be entitled to.
As of September 2017 our Nursery Class (Barn Owls) will be offering extended hours to eligible parents under the '30 hours' scheme. The scheme is designed to help families where both parents work (even part time). To check your eligibility, follow the link below:
We have yet to finalise details but it is likely that we will offer two Nursery sessions per day, one between 8:45am to 11:45am, and one between 12:15pm to 3:15pm. Children will be able to stay in school for a half-hour lunch break, and either bring a packed lunch or have a hot school meal freshly prepared by our kitchen at the usual price of £2.10.
If your child will be five by next August you will need to apply for a place at a primary school. This application process is organised by Oxfordshire County Council. You will be sent a letter at some point in the Autumn Term which will explain the process and give you a code for your child so that you can apply on line. This application needs to be done for all children - including those that are already have a place in our nursery. At present, this school has only 20 places available for Reception aged children. The deadline for applications is usually in January and you will be informed of the outcome by mid-April. Please contact the School Office on 01235 848333, if you would like to visit the school prior to making an application and we would be delighted to show you around.
From September 2017, we have 30 places available in our Reception Class. For further information, please contact the School Office.
Now that you have received confirmation of your child's Reception place. We are holding a New Parents' Meeting on Wednesday 28th June 2017 at 7:00pm to give you a chance to meet the new class teachers, Miss Tristram and Mrs McDowell. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. If at all possible, we have found that these sessions run smoother, if on the evening, the children are able to stay at home.
Also, on Monday 3rd July 2017, we will be holding a Transition Day whereby your child will come into school as normal (8:40am-3:10pm) and will spend the whole day in our Reception Class, giving everyone quality time to meet each other. For lunch arrangements, the children can either have a hot school meal or bring their own packed lunch.
At the start of school in September (for the first two weeks of term) the children will be at school between 8:40am until 1:15pm. This is to help the children’s transition into school. Often children become very tired in the first few weeks and we want to make sure this does not have a negative impact on their experience of school. We appreciate this is the first time we have carried out this staggered start, although it is not uncommon at the beginning of 'big school'. During the afternoons you will have an opportunity to have a home visit by Miss Tristram and one of our Support Staff who will be working with your child. Signing up for home visits will be done during the transition workshop and during the first week of term.
If you are moving into the local area or are considering changing schools please do make an appointment to come and visit the school. If you are looking to change schools, please make sure that you have spoken to your child's current head teacher prior to your visit. We will arrange some 'ice breaker' days so that your child has a smooth transition into the school.
Over the last five years the school has grown from 85 to over 165 pupils, and is set to grow even further in the future. Due to the small class structure that we have in place to accommodate this growth we do have limited spaces in each year groups in KS1 and KS2. Please do contact the school for further details.
