Term 2

Christmas has come to Robins class!

Our Diva lamps

Our first week exploring Diwali! We have been learning about the Hindu festival of light and exploring how it is celebrated across the world! We have been developing our fine motor control by colouring in and creating our own beautiful Rangoli patterns. We have been watching Hindu stories being told through dance and have had a go at joining in. We have been getting ready for a Diwali celebration of our own by decorating our class home corner. We will continue to explore Diwali next week.

On Monday 14th November, we had a special visitor in Robins class. Reverend Helen Kendrick came to talk to us about what it means to be a Christian and to be part of a school with Christian values. Reverend Helen oversees All Saints' Church in the village and loved coming in to meet the children and answer their questions.

We talked about our school and how we celebrate our differences and how this makes us unique and special. We welcome everyone into our school and treat them with respect and kindness.

We took part in different activities throughout the morning. After exploring what lots of different churches look like we had a go at creating our own using construction resources. We also made our own stain glass windows using collage and tissue paper.

We enjoyed our morning so much that we plan to arrange a trip to visit Reverend Helen where she works at All Saints' Church!

Remembrance day

Our first week back together. We have been spotting signs of Autumn and creating our own collage Autumn trees and leaf hedgehogs! Outside we have been taking advantage of the windy weather and have made lots of amazing kites! We have been busy getting back into our class routines and have been celebrating our reading at home.
