SEN Teaching Assistant

Full Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Temporary in first instance for 1 year)

Salary Type: Grade 4 Point 13 - £15,942 pro rata (£8.26 per hour)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.30pm till 3.15pm (with a 30 minute lunch break) 31.25 hours per week, term time only

Closing Date: Wednesday 13th September 2017 – 12noon

Interview Date Thursday 21st or Friday 22nd September 2017

Start Date: As soon as possible post selection (By 30th October)

We are looking to recruit an inspiring and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistants to provide 1-1 support for children in our school with varying needs including ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder). The role is varied in that often the support is given within a group and whole class setting, working alongside the class teacher and other support staff but also involves some 1-1 activities to support children's individual targets and routines.

The post will be temporary for a year in the first instance until August 2018, with the possibility of being extended.

  • Willing to work in partnership with other staff to support children.
  • Experienced or have some understanding of children who with varying needs including ASD.
