This term, our homework focus will be spellings and basic maths skills. The spellings can be found at the link below and form our spelling challenge. The children will work their way through each level so check with your child to see where they are up to and how you can help them practise.
The Wrens are strongly encouraged to read every day at home for a minimum of 20 minutes. Research shows that reading has a huge positive impact on progress and attainment in school. We also strongly encourage parents to read to children all the way through primary school. Wrens love listening to stories.
Additional home learning.
To help consolidate maths skills from this term, new ActiveLearn games have been uploaded onto the children's account. The children enjoy these so they are a great way to support their learning. Pupil videos on these accounts will help the childen (and their parents) understand the processes we have been practising. Please check with me if you are unsure of the login details.
Daily, short (2 minute) timestables and spelling games are easy to achieve and will significantly boost children's confidence in school. These can be done at meal times, when walking to and from school, in the car or any other gap in the day. See the spelling activities document below for ideas.
